Alice is the elder daughter of one of our trustees, Simon, and we are supporting Alice with an amazing charity event she is doing early in the New Year.

On Saturday 9th January 2016 Alice will be getting her head shaved to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Mila Maintenance Sponsors 2015/16 Super10

Donations With A Difference are pleased to announce that this season's Super10 competition is being sponsored by Mila Window and Door Maintenance. Super10 is our charity fantasy football with a difference that aims to raise money to support DWAD's charitable grants while allowing players to win money both for themselves and for the charity of their choice. Thanks to Mila's generous donation we are now able to ensure that a greater proportion of your entry fees will go to these good causes.

Finley's Wheelchair Raises Him to New Heights

Donations With A Difference is delighted to present Finley and his mum Kirstii with a brand new, specially designed wheelchair from TinyTrax.

Due to the hard work by all the team at Donations With A Difference, and all our supporters who sponsor us and attend our events, we were in a position to make our largest grant to date and fully fund this £6,000 specially equipped wheelchair.

 

Another Successful Donations With A Difference Quiz & Raffle

On Friday we held our latest twice-yearly Quiz With A Difference, generously hosted by Stonelees Golf Centre in Ramsgate and once again sponsored by our friends at recruitment specialists Red Eagle, and Tilmanstone Salads. After a topsy-turvy final round, the narrow winners were defending champions Typically Scottish.

 

Donations With A Difference Poker Tournament Raises £300

Last weekend, Grosvenor G Casino at Westwood Cross in Thanet hosted a charity poker tournament in aid of Donations With A Difference. With 10% of the prize pool allocated to our chairty, we received £300. We are donating £100 of this to the tournament winner's chosen charity, Pilgrims Hospices. We would like to thank the team at G Casino for supporting Donations With A Difference by hosting this event, and thanks also to all of the players who entered.

Donations With A Difference Poker Tournament - 6th September

The Grosvenor G Casino at Westwood Cross in Thanet will be hosting a charity poker tournament in aid of Donations With A Difference on Sunday 6th September at 6pm. The buy-in is £40 + £5 entry free with one re-entry permitted and a minimum guaranteed pot of £1,500. 10% of the prize pool will be donated to Donations With A Difference. Super10 Deadline 6pm Monday

The football season in England is already underway but there is still time to join our charity fantasy football with a difference, Super10. Pick 10 teams (7 from England and 3 from other top European leagues) to score points for you throughout the season and compete for cash prizes worth over £1,000. In addition you'll have the chance to win money for a charity of your choice and all other funds raised will go towards the charitable grants that Donations With A Difference makes throughout the year (we have some very worthwhile new grants to be announced imminently).

Donations With A Difference Comedy Night Raises £647

On Wednesday, Donations With A Difference hosted a night of comedy at the Astor Community Theatre in Deal. Compered by our own Paul Tingey, the bill included some of the South East's top comedy talent including El Baldiniho, Adam Morrison Jones, Dave O'Flynn, Dave Bailey, Paul Warricker and Mark Simmons, all of whom generously gave their time for free to support Donations With A Difference. As well as providing an evening of laughs, the event raised £647 for Donations With A Difference. This money will go towards the DWAD grant fund, enabling us to provide assistance to individuals and organisations in the local area in accordance with our guiding principles. The Donations With A Difference board of trustees has recently approved the award of a number of new grants and we will be revealing the details of these in the coming weeks on this website.

 

Charity Comedy Night - 22nd July

We have assembled some of the funniest comedians in the South East for our Donations With A Difference Comedy Night on Wednesday 22nd July at The Astor Theatre in Deal.

The line-up includes Adam Morrison Jones, Dave O'Flynn, Dave Bailey, Paul Warricker, El Baldiniho and Mark Simmons.

Super10 - New Season

The 2014/15 football season was the biggest so far for our charity fantasy football game, Super10. Dariusz Klimek emerged as the deserved winner, earning £100 for himself and another £100 for his chosen charity, Pilgrims Hospices. Funds were also won for Demelza, Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, and Porchlight, thanks to the efforts of Shaun Meadows, Mark Harbottle and Dariusz again. In additon, several hundred pounds went into the DWAD grant fund.

Our first Golf Day raised £1,800

We hosted our first charity golf day on Friday 29th May at Chestfield Golf Club.

This event has was a roaring success and raised £1,800.

The winning team will now nominate where they would like us to donate the first £100 for their chosen charity (from one of the four that we are supporting this year: Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Pilgrims Hospices, homelessness charity Porchlight, and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance). The rest of the money raised will be used by DWAD to help fund charitable grants like those we have awarded previously.

 

Successful 5-A-Side sponsored by EMS

We hosted our third 5-a-side tournament on Saturday 25th April and this was again a great success. Once again the event was generously supported by fire and safety specialists EMS Group.

The format of the tournament involved two groups of six with the top two qualifying for the EMS Cup semi-finals and 3rd and 4th progessing to the mini cup semis. The tournament concluded with two well-contested finals.

5-A-Side Tournament - Sign-up Today

The third edition of the Donations With A Difference EMS Cup, our charity 5-a-side football tournament sponsored by EMS Group, takes place at Dover Leisure Centre on Saturday 25th April between 12pm and 4pm.

Dnations With a Difference Quiz & Raffle Winners

The latest Donations With a Difference Quiz With A Difference at Stonelees on Friday was another successful and enjoyable evening of fund-raising. We will announce the final amount raised in due course but, on raffle ticket sales alone, it will be a four-figure sum.

 

Sports Activities for Leonard Cheshire Residents

Donations With A Difference trustee Will Chan visited Leonard Cheshire Disability's Chipstead facility yesterday to present the organisation with a cheque for one thousand pounds.

The £1,000 will pay for the activities for the Kent Active project. Leonard Cheshire Disability will deliver 24 weeks of sports activities which will be available to all of their Chipstead residents and day service users to participate in, allowing them to pick and choose which activities they would like to do.

Super10 Transfer Deadline

Those of you playing our Super10 charity football game have until midnight this Saturday (31st January) to make changes to your entries. After that the transfer window is closed and no further changes can be made this season.

Even if you are a long way adrift of the top places in the overall table and out of the DWAD Cup, there are still opportunities for you to win cash prizes this season, so don't miss this chance to maximise your odds. After Janaury we still have four monthly first place (£15) and second place (£5) prizes plus £25 for the entry that scores the most points after the transfer window closes.
