Curly's Power Chair Gets a Finishing Touch

Donations With A Difference trustees Will, Simon, Ella and Cheryl visited Team Ratcliffe for a cuppa, cake and catch-up. Since their first visit in July, Curtis (Curly) had taken delivery of his Smart Mustang Power Chair in mid-September and he has been making the most of his freedom and independence ever since.

According to Kyle “Curly had one day at the very beginning when he was on the chair from 8am until 4pm, only stopping for toilet breaks and lunch” and now “Curly gets stroppy when he is told that he has to get off”. “It has definitely changed his life”.

Needless to say our trustees didn’t just turn up for a catch-up and some refreshments, we had a surprise up our sleeves (again). We presented Curly with his very own personalised number plate to go on his Power Chair. Garry said “this is just the icing on the cake”.

As a result of the generosity from the local community to entirely fund Curly’s Power Chair, Team Ratcliffe has managed to now move forward with Curly’s Legacy, which has been set-up to give something back. The focus of the charity is on children with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as those children in care or adopted from care.

All of us at Donations With A Difference wish Team Ratcliffe every success with their new venture.
