DWAD Provides New Support Seat for Deal Boy

Jacob Marley is nearly 5 years old; he lives with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and has dystonia, spasticity and seizures, and is PEG-J fed caused from a lack of oxygen at birth. Donations With A Difference recently provided Jacob with a GoTo seat. A GoTo seat is a safe, supportive, lightweight and portable seat designed to provide additional upper body postural support for children with disabilities.

This has allowed Jacob to be seated on the floor with his friends and younger brother, enabled the family easier access to visit friends and family as the seat is adaptable to fit other existing chairs, and has given Jacob a new perspective in his life.

Hannah, Jacob's mum said, "From the first time I saw these chairs and was able to sit Jacob in one, I have always wanted Jacob to have one. We were not in a position to purchase one ourselves but a friend who had benefited from Donations With A Difference suggested I contact them and apply for a grant."

Wayne Hodgson, DWAD chairman, said "We are delighted to be able to provide this chair for Jacob, he has a great family environment and this chair will make interaction with his friends and younger brother Alfie that much easier".

If you know someone who would benefit or you could do with DWAD’s help directly, please do not hesitate to visit our grant application form.
