Orchards raises £229 for Donations with a Difference.
On Tuesday 24th October, Orchards in Sittingbourne held a coffee morning to help raise funds for DWAD that will go directly back into funding mobility equipment for children that could not be funded through the NHS. £229 was raised by selling coffee, a cake stall and receiving additional donations.
Orchards was opened in 2012 to improve the care and support given to more than 2,000 children in Swale who have conditions such as Down's syndrome, autism and cerebral palsy. The centre is a mixture of clinic and physiotherapy rooms, a sensory room and a soft play area.
Chairman of DWAD, Wayne Hodgson, who gave a speech to the attendees said, “I am eternally grateful to everyone who has supported the charity by attending the coffee morning. The money raised will help us provide more mobility equipment in the future.”
